Self-Appreciation is mandatory !

Every now and then we accomplish something that makes us feel good. But what people seem to forget is, not to jump right away on the next “mission”. You should focus on your current victory and I will tell you why.

If people systematically ignore their accomplishments and don’t celebrate them, they seem to have less meaning. In that line of thoughts every next thing you conquer will be felt like less of an important victory.

Imagine you have a child and you give him candy every time he gets an excellent mark. Over time, it starts looking like something coming naturally from the child – accomplishing the excellent marks every time. So you stop giving your kid candy and enjoying every new excellent mark. What that results in is that your little one stops putting much effort the next time, because it feels unappreciated.

What you need to do is just celebrate every small victory you accomplish. Take a day off. Listen to your favorite song, go out for a walk. Go buy yourself your favorite food or a piece of cake. It is just for you, because you have succeeded in doing something great. Do this every time – congratulate yourself in a way you will feel good. Do not ever ignore your victories, because over time they will start to look like unimportant things. That’s when you will get greedy and angry about yourself, never accomplishing something “big”. You will always want to get to the end of the journey without enjoying it, and never focusing on the small achievements. Somewhere at the middle of your path, you will feel discouraged and will probably end your goal pursuing there. This is the whole thing… you just need to celebrate all your victories big or small, because if you don’t, in the long run it will feel like you haven’t moved an inch on your path.
